Hello Ravinia 4th & 5th Grade Orchestras,

I am looking forward to our concerts next week!  I wanted to invite you to the Highland Park Strings concert which I perform in throughout the school year.

Our last concert is this Sunday, May 20th 3pm at Highland Park High School. The concerts are free and a great way to see musicians from all walks of life perform together. We are performing Schubert Symphony #5, Mozart Piano Concerto #21 and Haydn Trumpet Concerto.

Hello Orchestras,

It is time for all of our Orchestras to practice together!   For our Spring Concerts, we will need very important rehearsals at Edgewood Middle School in order to practice for our Spring Concert as one giant orchestra.  Below is the information for each 4th and 5th grade field trip and concert.  Please turn in the field trip form as soon as possible and contact me if you have any questions.

Date:  Tuesday, May 22^nd              

Where:  Edgewood Middle School – 929 Edgewood Rd

Arrival Time:  7:50-7:55am *drop off by parents

Rehearsal Time:  8-9:00am

Return to School:  Via Bus by 9:30am

Need:  Instrument, Music & Rest of Day Materials

4th Grade Orchestra Spring Concert

I hope you had a great week and were able to enjoy the beautiful weather!

Regarding spring break, if you are gone on vacation during break, please write in a “V” for vacation on the practice record the days you are gone.  If you are at home, maybe try to have a special performance for friends and family or set-up an orchestra play date with a fellow orchestra member

And last but not least, if your instrument goes out of tune during break, you can always take it to the music stores and they will tune it for you free of charge and quickly!

Hello Orchestras,

Mrs. Duke is so excited to share with you the winners of this year’s orchestra raffle.  I have been working on creating a cool video showing the raffle drawing but my computer is not working and speeding up the videos so I sound like Speedy Gonzales.

Hello Orchestras,

I hope you are enjoying this sunny weekend!  It is hard to believe but conferences are right around the corner.  During conferences, I will be at Lincoln School Room 102.  Please contact me to schedule a specific conference time.  I will also be attending a district music meeting on Friday March 16th from 8am-12pm but otherwise available for students and parents to stop by at anytime.

Each student will receive an orchestra progress report with their general classroom progress reports.  If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.
