Writing Conference
The Braeside Writing Conference is held every year in the spring. Ever fourth and fifth grader produces a manuscript of creative writing. On the day of the conference we meet in the gym, have lunch with our group leaders, and hear from our visiting guest speaker, a Chicago-area children’s author. Then the students and our visiting group leaders have small group sessions in which the manuscripts are critiqued.
This year’s guest speaker will be author Brenda Ferber. Brenda is the award-winning author of Julia’s Kitchen and Jemma Hartman, Camper Extraordinaire . We are thrilled that she will be leading our next conference!
The 22nd annual Writing Conference will take place on Wednesday, May 25th.
