THE GIANT CLOSET
As you know, the 8th Grade Graduation Ceremony has always been a formal event in North Shore School District 112, and students are expected to dress appropriately for the occasion. The Giant Closet came together in order to provide graduation appropriate clothing for 8th grade students for graduation. Featured items will include dresses and shoes for girls, and dress shirts, ties, slacks, and shoes for boys. On May 12th The Giant Closet will be open to all 8th grade students in District 112 to try on clothing, and then take home and wear for Graduation Night on June 4th. We are very excited to offer this opportunity to our students for this special night.
In order to provide a large collection of options for The Giant Closet, we need YOUR help. It’s time to get started on your spring-cleaning! Elm Place Middle School, Edgewood, and Northwood are now collecting graduation attire for our 8th graders. We need dresses, shoes, dress shirts, ties, and slacks in a variety of sizes. Please deliver any of these items to any of the schools during school hours, and place them in the basket marked The Giant Closet. If you have any questions, please contact Debbie Miller at dwmiller@nssd112.org. We thank you in advance for your donations to this worthy event.

KINDERGARTEN FIELD DAY
(Thursday, May 24th, 2012)
Dear Kindergarten Parents/Guardians,
On behalf Ms. Tepper, Ms. Waller, Mr. Iverson and Mr. Arensen, we would like to thank you for all your support during the year. We have had a wonderful time getting to know your children and watching them grow.
The annual Kindergarten Field Day is scheduled for Thursday, May 24th, from 8:40 to 11:25 A.M. All students are to report to school in the morning for that day only. We have planned a wonderful morning of activities and games. This morning is for students only.
Kindergarten students are invited to eat lunch at school for the first time. Please send your child with a Nut Free bag lunch, water bottle (marked with your child’s name), and gym shoes.
Bus transportation is as follows: A.M. kindergarteners take the bus to and from school as usual. P.M. kindergarteners may ride the bus to school but must be picked up at 11:25. The reason for this is because A.M. students are delivered to their door on the return trip home. The driver has no way of knowing where the P.M. kindergarteners live. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
Again, thank you for all your help and support this past year. We hope your child has had a wonderful kindergarten experience, and we look forward to seeing them in first grade!
If you have any questions, please email. darensen@nssd112.org and tiverson@nssd112.org
Sincerely,
Mr. Arensen and Mr. Iverson
